Prof.  Luiz Carlos Kretly

 

received the Electrical and Electronics Engineering  degree from the University of Brasilia, UnB, Brasilia D.F, Brazil. Full professor at University of Campinas.

The MsC  and doctor degree Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from Unicamp 1992. Worked as an invited researcher at Cornell University at the former NRRFSS today NNF National Nanofabrication Facility, in Microelectronics fabrication (1982) on submicron GaAs and Silicon devices for RF and Microwaves application.

Full Professor at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty at Unicamp, Campinas state of Sao Paulo,Brazil. The head of the Semiconductor Components Center of Unicamp from 1988-1998 and implemented two major systems for microelectronics fabrication:  E-beam lithography system and Ion Implantation System. Has pioneered introduced the cycle of Integrated Circuit Design and Layout in undergraduate level at Unicamp.

Has a joint program for MEMs Devices with LNLS- National Laboratory of Sincrotron Light (Radiation) Campinas, SP. Brazil. -since 2000

Member co-founder of the SBMicro, Brazilian Microelectronics Society, member and co-founder of Sbmo, Brazilian Microwaves Society.

His current research interests include RF Microelectronics, Metamaterials, Plasmon propagation, MEMS, NEMS and Nanotechnology:

Photonic Band Gap PBG applied to planar microstrip Antennas, EBG –Electromagnetic Band Gap structures FSS, AMC. MEMS Switch for RF Applications, Active Antennas. Microelectronics Technology: Ion Implantation and Electron Beam Lithography.

IEEE member, and Microwave Chapter Chair of IEEE, South Brazil, 9th Section since 2008.

 In charge of a cooperation projects and industrial contracts with Wireless Communication corporation, Automotive Industries and Energy Company.
